Lots of pictures!
Just counted my contact sheets!
I have Over 1,500 images and am going to a cross country event today so will be getting many more and 2 more events in the week!
So im guessing im going to have over 2000 images! im pretty impressed with my self!
Here is another taster of what I've been up to!
In other exciting news I've been told that one of ladies in the yard needs someone to ride her Irish thoroughbred so guess who got the job! :) going riding through a forest on Tuesday! :)

TODAY!
so i have come to scarborough for 10 days to stay with my mum as she knows lots of horsey people!
went to a racing yard and a stud yard today to see a beautiful race horse and to the stud yard to see a new 3 week old foal! got hundreds of pictures so heres a few to show you what i got!

nice weather...and more ponies!
So me and brad went on a wild goose chase in search of ponies on dartmoor today, armed with carrots and a camera, exepct today the weather was awful!
I decided to go and get some more rugged shots of cold, wet ponies except they seemed to have all disapeared!
We finally found some after walking for over half an hour, except they wern't as friendly as last time, getting quite angry and defensive whenever i got to close, we decided to leave these ones after only getting a few shots and drive on to find some more, we found some at Yelverton which were worse than the last being over friendly because prior to coming over to us they were being fed chips out the side of an overweight family's car (which really irritates me! because this is what causes this over confident and slightly aggresive behavior when they don't get what they want!!) as they then decided to chase me and head butt and attack me which was fun! i had to throw a carrot and run away back into the car which they then continued to ambush by head butting the car!!
They moved on after 5 minuites of reinacting some kind of scene from Jurrasic park!
we then went to cadover where again we walked for a while and found a group that again didnt seem keen on sticking around for pictures! so it was a bit of a failed mission all in all, maybe it was the weather!!

Contextual
so i finished Katie Pipers book in 2 days! which is amazing for someone with as bad attention span as me! but now ive moved onto the Susie orbachs 'bodies' and also Naomi wolfs ' the beauty myth' both of which im finding very inspiring, however ive got alot of work to do so im having trouble making time to read them both,

latest news..
So i had a tutorial yesterday, and now im even more confussed of where to go with this project, i have contacted the RSPCA, however i cannot work with them because of court case's etc, most of which wont be over for months so i would not be able to use any images i take until the case was finished,
they have however asked me to take some images of some cats and rabbits that have been mis-treated, this also gave me some more idea's for this project perhaps to photograph some mis treated animals and then in contrast photograph pamperd animals and the people who own them in a David La Chappele style,
when i thought of this idea the music video to "Black hole sun" By soundgarden also came to mind, this shot in particular,..
I have also spoken to a Lady named Sara who is the sister of Lisa Burrows, she has kindly agreed to take me to the Livery stables that she keeps her horses at and also looks after a few more, at this stable's there is also around 50 other horses at the stables so it gives me a great oppurtunity to take lots of pictures of both horses and people, i am going to pursue both projects and see which one works out best, so i better get working hard!!

Final essay
Here are some of the things i have been looking into for my final major contextual studies essay,

I have watched this along with her new series named " Katie piper my beautiful friends" both of which i have found very inspiring!
I have also brought her autobiography which on day 2 of purchase i am three quarters of the way through!
(which for me is amazing because i get very distracted when reading! and it normally takes me months to finish a book if i even manage to read it for that long!)
I have also been reading alot into the history of beauty and the barbie doll effect which has come alot from the porn star type image.
personally at this stage i feel that beauty has changed alot since the introduction of pornography and plastic surgery!( however at this stage this is just a personal opinion)
I have also bought Susie Orbach's "Bodies" which i have read the first chapter of (and am already finding it very inspiring both for work and for personal reasons) but am concentrating on the Katie piper book at the moment but am almost finished so will be moving on to it strait after!
Today i also brought "The Beauty Myth" from amazon, and can expect that in the next few days so more for me to read!!
To add to this i watched the hole series of "Beuty and the beast the ugly face of predudice" which was also very helpful they talked alot about how it seems so un exeptable to put someone who isnt "commercialy beautiful" in a fashion advert, yet to me this asks, is it not the product that is being advertised rather than the person in it?!
Too me it seems so strange that they feel the need to advertise a lifestyle rather than a product, and do people really belive that if they wear a certain perfume or dress that there life will as a result be perfect?
It again proves how the fashion industry is so realiant on looks, which links back to Katie piper's story, before the incident in march 2008 her life was based on looks as her carer was in modeling and presenting, but now it has been ruined by a jealous and evil man, and from getting so many casting calls and modelling jobs it has all changed just because of her looks, even though she has a beautiful personlity it is sad that camera cant pick this up.
I am looking forward to writing this paper as it is something i feel strongly about and as a young female something that on a daily basis effects me with constant bombardment from magazines, adverts and tv shows to be not only be the best i can be but to somehow through using useless beauty products that usally dont work, be as perfect as the airbrushed women in the adverts.
Something else i have noticed is that in recent years the "male gaze" seems to have been left behind and now i feel it is more of a "female gaze" young girls and women constantly judging each other for what they look and act like, if someone looks better than you it seems to be natural these days to feel the need to comment and put them down, if a girl is pretty and nice then there has to be something wrong with her,
again a very unfair aspect of everyday life for lots of girls, this also something i think has impacted the beauty industry massivly and is something i think i should talk alot about in my essay because it's not just the media but we are also turning on each other

Horses! Horses! Horses!
So today i returned to Dartmoor to take a second attempt at photographing some of the ponies up there!
its not as easy as it sounds!
the last attempt i failed miserably!
so today aided with a bag of carrots from Lidl i tryed again!
and i'm actually pretty happy with the results for once!
i just used my canon 40d and my sigma 12-24mm wide angle lens, didn't use flash etc
but yes carrots are definitely and essential the ponies wouldn't leave me alone!
